The company was founded by John Bumgarner in 1976 with an aim to upgrade the limousine customization industry. By the end of 1986, ECB was able to prepare over 400 limousines per year in its onsite manufacturing unit in Springfield, MO. It is important to note that in 1981, Roger Farris tool the commencement of the business and expanded the business throughout the early '80s.

Farris had bought ECB from Bumgarner and had been drawn into the discussion of buying the company after having bought a limousine. He added that ECB's distinctive quality was what drew him to them. In contrast to its initial focus on just two limos, Executive Coach now offers more than 25 different cars and custom customizations.

After taking over the management of ECB in 1993, the current owner, David Bakare, expanded Executive Coach to become the premier luxury limousine and bus builder for both domestic and international markets.

Currently, ECB produces 600 limousines annually. With its headquarters in Springfield, Missouri, ECB offers upscale buses and extended limos all over the world. ECB takes great satisfaction in producing high-quality goods and is well-known for producing luxury limousines on Ford, Cadillac, Mercedes, Rolls Royce, Bentley, BMW, and Hummer chassis.
